We all know that NOBODY gets copyright permissions on TUMBLR because we are sharing what others post, and they don’t have copyright permissions. However, we also know that TUMBLR, since being purchased by Yahoo, has begun randomly enforcing copyright claims. TUMBLR tells us we can “contest” claims, but they delete the photo, so it’s IMPOSSIBLE to contest, and most photos are all over the internet according to images.google.com! So I am not sure what the point is with TUMBLR, except to be mean-spirited after someone spends years posting.
So if my cancer does not get me first, and I suddenly disappear from TUMBLR, it is because they have randomly selected me as an attempt to pacify someone by appearing to be protecting copyrights, and thereby deleting my account.
I am powerless to such randomness. I do know that after thousands of hours of collecting, posting and captioning, I am one of the largest TUMBLR owners there is, if you also follow me on NudistErection.tumblr.com, and I am sure I bring them lots of revenue. I will miss being on TUMBLR, but random deletion and disrespect to the hard work TUMBLR authors does appear inevitable. Here is the notice I received today from TUMBLR:
We’re writing to let you know that, due to repeated uncontested notifications of copyright infringement against one or more of your blogs, your Tumblr account is one more uncontested notice away from termination. PLEASE CONSIDER THIS A FINAL WARNING.
As a reminder, Tumblr, as required by US law, implements a strict policy of terminating the accounts of repeat copyright infringers. It’s important for all creators that our users respect copyright, and so we ask that you take greater care in what you post to your Tumblr blogs. You can review Tumblr’s Terms of Service (http://www.tumblr.com/policy/en/terms_of_service) and Community Guidelines (http://www.tumblr.com/policy/en/community) for more information on our copyright policies.
Also, if you believe that a copyright infringement notification has been incorrectly submitted against you (in other words, that you have the legal right to post the content), you can contest the notice and file a counter-notification according to the procedure found here:http://www.tumblr.com/policy/en/terms_of_service#dmca
